Top 10 Defenders in the World 2013/14

#10 Rafael Varane

This young French lad is just 20 years of age. He is a consistent talent for the Los Blancos(Real Madrid) as he has worked his way to a starting lineup this passed year. He is definately one of the best young players out there no doubt.

#9 Jan Vertonghen

Jan is a fresh face in the game and also in the EPL on a transfer from Ajax last year summer. He is also young and has great talent, he is already at his best in the EPL and there is definately more to come from the young talent.

#8 Neven Subotic

Has been ranked one of the best for a while now and he is obviously still at the top of his game. This is a defender many players don't want to face but on the other hand would love to play alongside him. Subotic is dominating the beautiful game and is not stopping soon.

#7 Andrea Bazargli

A veteran in the beautiful game and still at the top of his game. He was more consistent in his prime but unnoticed, now he has had a good brace with Juventus for the past 4 years now and is a very contending defender.

#6 Nemanja Vidic and Vincent Kompany

Yes,I have two #6. Reason being is these two are no doubt EPL's best centers and they have both accomplished a lot, well maybe. Vidic has accomplished a lot more than Kompany in their prime and of recent but never the less, these two are alike in many ways and therefore they share a spot on my list.

#5 Dante Bonfim

This is "THE" one of the best and I can say it again, as you can see I added cottations there. I personally love this guy and so should you, he is defensively intelligent and can play all positions in the back. He is also a little attack minded also. This player has worked his way into a starting role for both club and country and there is more to come from him.

#4 Giorgio Chiellini

I intentionally selected the picture above, I love the gesture, basically tells you that he's the best of the best. A veteran still in his prime yet to go off balance knocking his fellow veterans and these young players from side to side, he is a true footballer and still puts on a show for both club and country.

#3.Sergio Ramos

At his young age, he is considered a veteran and a legend at this game in our eyes and he still dominates and is not ready to back down. He can play at all positions at the back and has also played some roles in the midfield when needed. He is a great leader and sacrifices a lot for his team. He is a true footballer.

#2 Phillip Lahm

Has been around for a long time and is still around and still the same Lahm. He has shown great intelligence in the game of football, he also is a good leader, takes risks when needed and has accomplished a lot with club and country with that, he is also captain for both teams. He is one of the only 2 defenders short listed for 2013 Ballon D'Or.

#1 Thiago Silva

He has everything you need in a defender, he is Thiago Silva. Great defender, at his prime right now and is not looking to end that prime soon. He simply is the best defender in the world, great leadership, strength, name it and he has it. He is currently enjoying his football with both club and country and he is also alongside Phillip Lahm as the only 2 defenders short listed for 2013 Ballon D'Or.

Fifa President Sepp Blatter Prefers Lionel Messi

Fifa President Sepp Blatter Prefers Lionel Messi

I am sure most of you have already heard of this controversy lately. Sepp Blatter prefers Messi. He doesn't like Ronaldo. He doesn't respect Ronaldo. We have come to a conclusion about what he had to say and we have our own opinions we would like to share about the whole situation. We have also placed the video at the end of this post.

When presented with the question, "Lionel Messi, or Cristiano Ronaldo?" Sepp Blatter decided to add Ibrahimovic to this list. He agreed, however that both of them are exceptional players, which no one can deny. No matter what you say, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are very good footballers who are both amongst the best in the world at the moment, as well as in the history of the sport.

Blatter goes on to say that these two players are completely different and football is about the difference of stars. Once again, I have to agree with him on this point. Football is all about the differences, that's why people support different clubs. Without these differences in football, it would be a boring sport. Everyone would be the same, and no one likes that. Everyone knows that Messi and Ronaldo are completely different people, but it's what Blatter says next that sparks some controversy.

Once this point is made, Blatter went on to say some things that people don't like. He started by saying, "Lionel Messi is a good boy. Every father, every mother would like to have him." This can be true but this is a very opinionated statement. Everyone can tell on the pitch that Messi is a good guy. He isn't the one to shout at his players, he is very quiet, he just gets the ball and goes with it. He is not often the host of much controversy both on and off the pitch. Where Blatter gets the statement, every father and every mother would like to have him is a shot in the dark on his part. I am sure he does not know Messi well enough to say such things.

He goes on to say that, "Naturally, he will always get a lot of votes, because he is this nice man. And he scores a lot of goals." This is the statement that has really gotten to people. When he talks about Messi getting a lot of votes, he is talking about the Ballon d'Or. The greatest award in football as well as one of the most questionable lately. People assume this statement means that because Messi is a nice guy, he deserves to win the Ballon d'Or. This is probably what his statement is hinting it, that Messi will always win because he is a nice and kind guy. People are really asking themselves this, "Is the award for the best player on earth being given to the nicest footballer?" If this statement is true, then the Ballon d'Or is not as prestigious of an award.

Now Blatter moves on to "the other one." Why he does not use Ronaldo's name, no one really knows. Most people think it is a sign of disrespect towards Ronaldo. To not use his name and to just refer to him as the other one shows that Blatter is not the biggest fan of Cristiano.

He then gets up from his seat in order to display how he feels Ronaldo acts on the pitch. He refers to Ronaldo as a "commander on the field" as he stand in an upright position and starts to bark. This is what did it for almost every Ronaldo fan on earth. The fact that The President of FIFA, the governing body of football, decides to get up and mock Ronaldo really means something.

Now that he is seated back in his chair he talks about how it is good to have commanders on the field and that one spends more on hair products than the other. He finishes it off with, "I prefer Messi."

No one is quite sure why Sepp Blatter would answer this question in such a way but many people are putting him into question. Do we really want the president of FIFA to act this way when presented a question. The man who is meant to represent a sport who acts in such a way. What do you think? Comment below!

Footballer Review: Aaron Ramsey

Footballer Review: Aaron Ramsey

You may have heard of the return of Aaron Ramsey lately. The 22 year old midfielder has been the host of quite a lot of controversy but he is back with Arsenal and in full force. He has displayed beautiful football with the Gunners as well as put in some classic goals.

Aaron Ramsey was shining for Arsenal in 2009. He was a young player with a lot of potential. Sadly, his career was put on halt due to a double leg break. This saw him out of the game for quite some time, but he was back now and proving that he has fully recovered in the 2011-2012 season where he made 44 appearances. His form was still not 100%, making him a questionable player for Arsenal.

Ramsey's skills with a ball are second to none. He is a key midfielder in that he can pick out the important and critical passes. For such a young boy he is still very mature both on and off the pitch. This quality is just not as prevalent in the beautiful game anymore.

This year Ramsey is in full force and showing off his talent to the world. He has scored 5 goals and  assisted 4 in his 9 Premier League appearances. He has also scored once in the Champions League and twice for his country of Wales. He was awarded the Premier League Player of the Month for the month of September 2013.

Footballer Review: Franck Ribéry

Footballer Review: Franck Ribéry

Arguably one of the best players in football, Franck Ribéry has been shining very bright lately. His beautiful combination of intelligence, speed, skill, power, and passion has proved to be his strong suits in the beautiful game. Very few people can move the ball with just as much speed and with as much control as Ribéry. In my eyes, he is the greatest player in the world right now.

His playing style is too beautiful to describe with words. Once he gets the ball on his wing he just goes. Nothing can get in his way, he just flies down the line. Only until he gets to defenders, he slows down a bit. This is, however, quickly followed up with some beautiful skills and ball control, then him leaving the defender on the floor and attacking the goal. This is finished with his deadly shot. The shot that few keepers have the guts to stop.

The 30-year-old has set a way 12 goals and 8 assists in all competitions so far this season and is displaying no signs of stopping. In his entire career with Bayern he has 56 goals to his name in 165 appearances. He is a deadly attacker and he is a force to be reckoned with.

Now for the part everyone has been waiting for, the Ballon d'Or. Many questions have been raised regarding the Ballon d'Or and if it is truly fair. Many people feel Franck Ribéry is the one who deserves the award for this year but this may not be the case. We will truly have to wait and see what FIFA decides. All I can say is that I hope he wins it. He truly deserves it and he has been performing at a level none can reach.

Adidas F50 adizero SL Review: Should You Buy Them?

Adidas F50 adizero SL Review: Should you buy them?

They are one of the most iconic boots in football history. The F50 adizero SL was released last year and became one of the best boots of 2012. This year, after the new redesign, you can purchase these models for over $100 cheaper than last year! But do you want to spend $100+ on an old boot when you can spend the same amount on a new takedown model?

I purchased my adizeros last September and I never look back on it. They are still the lightest boots I have ever owned and I still find joy in using them. They are very VERY thin. You get barely any dinthrtic between you and the ball which is something I am not the biggest fan of. The speed web delivers a very strong yet lightweight upper. The stud pattern still is one of my favourites. It is very versatile and gives a lot of grip. Changing directions is very easy and there is little to no slippage.

After owning the boots for a year they gave proved to stand to a lot of abuse. This includes hundreds of miles of running on artificial grass, firm ground, and soft ground. Somehow, earlier this year, I knocked off one if the studs. I have no idea how this happened, but it did. There is nothing I can really do to fix it but it hasnt given me any problems yet.

Should you buy them? Of course you should. One of the perks of the football boot industry is that older models and older colour ways drop value dramatically because companies push their newer and supposedly better models. The adizero is very similar to it's newer counterpart and definitely worth the price. The good thing is these boots last.

After 13 Months

Top 8 Football Boots 2013

Top 8 Football Boots 2013

It's the most important thing you put on to play the game. They are with you all the time when you play and they provide the barrier between you and the ball. It is very important when buying your football boots, that you purchase the right ones for you. Here is my list of the best football boots from this year. We have found the best quality and best performing boots of this year so far and we have put them on our list!

8. Mizuno Wave Ignitus 3

Mizuno doesn't get as much recognition as they deserve, but their football boots are top quality. They also have made some interesting innovations in the football world. The Ignitus is a lightweight, yet comfortable synthetic boot. The striking striking some still exists and has been redesigned to be even sleeker.

7. Adidas Predattor LZ2

The lethal zones have returned, and with a bang. Adidas' lethal zone 1 predators received very mixed reviews from people. Many loved it and many hated it. Adidas decided to completely change the lethal zones and to hopefully make them more suited to their customers, something they did well. The lethal zones have received a complete makeover and they look better than ever.

6. Adidas F50

When you think of Adidas boots, one of the first things you think of are their ultra lightweight silo of football boots, the f50 series. One of the most popular boots in the world, the f50. The shoe has gone through a major redesign whilst still maintaining it's technical features from last year. Something new is the synthetic texturing on the synthetic version of the upper.

5. White Adidas Cops Mundial

When you think of the history of the football boot and it's evolution, you cannot leave out the Copa Mundial. This historic boot has barely changed a bit since it's creation those years ago and it still lives on. At long last, adidas has released a white version of this historic boot. Definitely a good looking boot as well as a very high quality one.

4. Nike Mercurial IX

Nike has taken the market by storm again with another mercurial release. One of the most ground breaking silos of football boots has come out with a new release and nike was not afraid for do something different.

If you know the mercurial XI, you probably know it for its nee upper. Nike calls it speed control but we almost all know it as golf ball dimples. This new upper is probably why most people purchased this boot and why they hold it to such a high standard.

3. Under Armour Blur Carbon 3

In the football boot industry, companies like under armour are unfortunately overlooked due to the big 2 companies, nike and Adidas. The blur carbon 3 easily deserves it's number 3 spot. Sometimes it is though to put you finger on it, but you just know a good boot when you see it.

2. Nike Hypervenom Phantom

This year, Nike decided to scrap their Total 90 silo of football boys and to replace it with a new one. This new silo is called the Hypervenom, and it'd flagship boot is the Hypervenom phantom. Easily one of nikes strangest releases to the sport, the Hypervenom is loaded with new technology which has made one of, if not the, best selling football boots this year. Nike markets their Hypervenom to a new breed of attack. This boot is created with the quick attacker in mind and rightfully so.

This boot is loaded with Nike technologies. One of the most notable technologies is called nikeskin. Nike has used this upper variation in the past but it has been revamped for the Hypervenom. This interesting upper means little to no break in time is required for this boot.

1. Adidas Nitrocharge 1.0

The Adidas Nitrocharge 1.0 strongly deserves the number one spot on our top 10. This new release by Adidas could be called a risky step, but very much worth it. The boot has proved to be worth it's weight in gold.

Adidas has implemented many new technologies into this football boot. These include the energypulse, energy sling, multi textured upper, as well as protective pads on the back of the heel.
