Footballer Review: Franck Ribéry

Footballer Review: Franck Ribéry

Arguably one of the best players in football, Franck Ribéry has been shining very bright lately. His beautiful combination of intelligence, speed, skill, power, and passion has proved to be his strong suits in the beautiful game. Very few people can move the ball with just as much speed and with as much control as Ribéry. In my eyes, he is the greatest player in the world right now.

His playing style is too beautiful to describe with words. Once he gets the ball on his wing he just goes. Nothing can get in his way, he just flies down the line. Only until he gets to defenders, he slows down a bit. This is, however, quickly followed up with some beautiful skills and ball control, then him leaving the defender on the floor and attacking the goal. This is finished with his deadly shot. The shot that few keepers have the guts to stop.

The 30-year-old has set a way 12 goals and 8 assists in all competitions so far this season and is displaying no signs of stopping. In his entire career with Bayern he has 56 goals to his name in 165 appearances. He is a deadly attacker and he is a force to be reckoned with.

Now for the part everyone has been waiting for, the Ballon d'Or. Many questions have been raised regarding the Ballon d'Or and if it is truly fair. Many people feel Franck Ribéry is the one who deserves the award for this year but this may not be the case. We will truly have to wait and see what FIFA decides. All I can say is that I hope he wins it. He truly deserves it and he has been performing at a level none can reach.

Top 10 Strikers in the World 2013/14

Top 10 Strikers in the World 2013/14

We are glad to present our take on the top 10 strikers in the world for this upcoming season. We have taken a lot into consideration and we have finally came to a decision after much brainstorming and arguing. Each player has been selected not only because of their performance so far in the season, but also their performance throughout last season. Only the players that have been delivering both last and this year have made it onto this top 10. Our decisions also reflect the player's work for both club and country. Please feel free to comment and to include your opinions on what we have to say.

Other bonus strikers this year are Olivier Giroud, Cristian Benteke, Sidney Sam, Giuseppe Rossi, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck, Loïc Remy, Romelu Lukaku, Roberto Soldado, Diego Costa, Carlos Tevez, Edin Dzeko, and a few more that appeared in our short list.

*Bonus Player* Sergio Agüero

Our big bonus player spot goes to Sergio Kun Aguero. Without a doubt, this young talented player has been around for a while and he has always been rated on of the best for a long time also being compared to a page full of legends. Struggled last season netting 20 goals, assisted 4 and battling injury but is back 100% hopefully and is hungry for goals. So far he has been a little in and out of the shadows but is showing great potential both international and club side.

10. Daniel Sturridge

Our number 10 spot goes to Daniel Sturridge. Phenomenal Striker! This lad has really worked his way up. We might be criticized for this now but later you'll understand. Last season Sturridge found the back of the net 16 times and had 4 assists. So far, he is one of the best strikers this season as he has started awesome, broken a record or two, setting career highs and is definately going to finish this season on top, most definitely.

9. Mario Balotelli

Our number 9 spot goes to Mario Balotelli. He's young and he has proved himself to be a threat to any opponent. He is one of the very egotistic players out there and he deserves to have one. Last season Mario netted 23 goals and 3 assits, with both Manchester City and AC Milan. So far, he has scored more than half his goals from last season and we are sure more are coming his way.

 8. Stefan Kießling

Our number 8 spot goes to underdog Stefan Kießling. Like I said, underdog but part of the reasons why a lot of people don't understand the game of football now a days. He is an awesome striker with clue, yes,he is not to be in this lineup but I think he deserves some credit. He has always been in the top half of highest goal scorers for a while now. Last season, he scored 27 goals and assisted 8. So far, he has started the season with bullets of goals but just for club side, has not been selected for international side for a while now.

7. Robin van Persie

Our number 7 spot goes to Robin Van Persie. One of the best strikers ever, a great role he has played in the world of football, young footballers like myself look up to him. He is still today a feared forward to any defence. Last season Persie found the back of the net 39 times and assisted 12. So far, as usual van Persie is having a great time scoring but in and out of shadows also.

6. Luis Suarez

Our number 6 spot goes to the show man himself Luis Suarez. Luis Suarez who came to the big lights of our eyes after the 2010 World Cup has become a deadly striker in all ways. Very entertaining forward to watch. Last season Suarez scored 40 goals and 6assists. So far, internationally he has been beast and scoring great. Just came off 8 or 10 match ban for club side Liverpool bit still has shown great potential already.

5. Radamel Falcao

Our number 5 spot goes to Radamel Falcao. One of the best strikers of our time and possibly all time, as simple as that. Also known as "the tiger" or "El Tigre" knowing how he poses as a threat to opposing teams. Recently making big money transfer from Atletico Madrid to As Monaco. Last season "El Tigre" scored a fantastic 41 goals and assisted 2 overall. So far, he has started the season awesome but had a slump in form which he is recovering.

4. Robert Lewandowski

Our number 4 spot goes to Robert Lewandowski. This star has had an awesome couple of seasons with Dortmund. I would say his best so far was last season as he found the back of the net 42 times and assisting 12, although loosing the league title to arch rivals Bayern Munich, he lead his team to the Champions League Final including probably one his best games of the season thrashing Real Madrid in the semi - finals. So far, he has started this season well and sure he will end it great.

3. Edinson Cavani

Our number 3 spot goes to Edison Cavani. I personally think statistically he is better than opposing man Radamel Falcao. World Cup wonder man as I call him, he is a classic forward and a great threat most especially now that he is paired up with Ibrahimovic. Last season, he scored 43 goals and assisted 6 overall. So far, he has shown as a threat both international and club side and there is more to come from him.

2. Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Our number 2 spot goes to the great Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The nose man as I call him. He is simply one of the best strikers and players of all time. His ego and style makes how awesome he is right now. Last season Zlatan scored 47 goals and 18 assists. So far, he has started the season well and hope to see more.

1. Lionel Messi

Our number 1 spot goes to the one and only Lionel Messi. He's only 26 and has changed the world of football, broken so many records, won so many titles but still criticized by some people. A lot to say about this lad but it is quite obvious what I'll say. Last season, he had a wonder season once again where he netted 75 goals and assisted 18 overall. So far, he has started this season like always, competitive, but has had a slump which was his injury in which he is just recovering from but this lad is a genius and expect a great season from him.

Top Designer Men's Cologne Fall/Winter

Top 10 Cologne for Fall/ Winter 2013

The new season is coming and everyone is looking for the right smells for the upcoming season. For men, a good winter scent is something that is strong enough to pierce the cold air, but not too much. Also it must be nice and warm. These are my top 10 picks.

Spicebomb by Viktor & Rolf

This qualifies of one of my all time favourite fragrances. There are very few fragrances that can smell this good whilst still being full of such interesting ingredients. Basically, Spicebomb is a bomb of spice, full of nice cinnamon and a very warm feeling smell.

Yves Saint Laurent La Nuit De L'Homme

YSL has created a timeless fragrance. Most fragrance heads have probably heard of this fragrance before just because of how it has managed to be one of those quality all around fragrances. The smell is a bit dark but can still be used at any time of the day.

 Gucci by Gucci

Gucci is known for making some good fragrances and this is no exception. Probably not the most popular of the Gucci fragrances but without a doubt one of the best. This has a very nice tobacco and woody smell, perfect for the winter.

Thierry Mugler Angel Man Pure Havane

Pure Havane wins the reward of being my favourite cologne so far in my collection. I am proud for it to be my signature scent. A very warm and different smell that is perfect winter. This fragrance never stops with that sweet vanilla smell that people really notice.

 Burberry London

One of the more outlandish fragrances in this collection is Burberry London. It has a very nice pine tree kind of smell that is complimented by a tobacco and leather hints.

 Million by Paco Rabanne

I hate to be a follower but this is one of the most well known fragrances and it deserves that title. It has a nice bubblegum type of smell to it and still has a scent that will make you stand out. It pierces through the cold air very well and deserves a spot in everyone's collection.

 Givenchy Play Intense

To finish it up, it's Givenchy Play Intense. I love this cologne because of it's beautiful coffee scent. It is very unique and feels at home in cold climates. It still has a mix of warm spicy ingredients to give that warm feeling.
