2014 FIFA World Cup Update

2014 FIFA World Cup Updates

It is one of the biggest gatherings in sport and it is arriving at our doorstep next year. Brazil has been working very hard to make sure they deliver with this upcoming World Cup. They will have to pull out all the stops to ensure this is a very good World Cup.  Brazil has had to build 6 new stadiums in order to pull up a grand total of 12 stadiums for the World Cup. There will be available transportation between the venues through the BRT systems and they should be able to cope with the high traffic by 2014.  The 2014 World Cup will also be the first World Cup to introduce goal line technology. There has been much want of this from the fans but FIFA waited until the Confederations Cup to introduce it to an official cup. It proved a success in that cup so they have chosen to continue to use it in the World Cup.  There has also been much controversy surrounding this World Cup. Many Brazilian people have protested against this world cup because they don't believe it is the best thing for their country. Although it is the country basically bleeds football, they still don't believe it should be hosted in their country at this point in time. The country has been suffering from increased poverty lately and they feel as if they have been overlooked because of the World Cup. The country has been boosting Billions of dollars into the World Cup and not into the people of the country. On top of all of this they are also hosting the 2016 Olympic Games. I guess we will have to wait a bit longer to see how this all unravels.
